i’m the one with the camera.
I’m Arūnė Daukantaitė. I photograph, style and direct: bands in studios, fashion from behind the scenes, brands that need a face, friends in fields.
Most of my best jobs start by accident. I was in the wrong room, met Sweet Sticky Jam, got curious, and stayed for their whole first EP.
I shoot stills and film, on 35mm and digital. The artwork for Projector’s debut album. Behind the scenes at Glass Magazine and Vogue Philippines. A showroom film for Baroque. Pictures for a wine brand, and model tests for Faith Management.
I also design costumes for film, with more than twelve years of work behind me. Parade, Pilgrims, Kings’ Shift and The Fish of My Life are mine, and Pilgrims (dir. Laurynas Bareiša) and Parade earned Sidabrinė gervė nominations for best costume designer, in 2022 and 2023.
